Here’s the skinny (or chunky) on prefolds

Prefolds are such a cost-effective way to diaper your babe. I love how versatile they are! Since our little ones have such unique body shapes, it’s great to experiment with different types of folds. All of these can be either pinned up with a Snappi, or tucked into a pocket, if your cover comes with one.

The Trifold

This one is simple. It was the first fold I tried, since I was a little overwhelmed with cloth diapers in the beginning:

The Burrito

This one works well if the prefold you’re using is a little large for your baby. Also great for heavy front wetters, or boys:

The Safari

This is a little like the Burrito, except the extra flap is in the back. Also great for blowouts:

The Bikini

I’ll admit, I avoided this fold for my first baby. It looked sort of uncomfortable. But I’ve recently become a fan; it’s easy, and works well for both of us! It definitely works best when secured with a Snappi:

Have fun trying out each fold to see what you or baby prefers. Then as you become a seasoned prefolder, you can even customize your own specific fold.
