According to a report in the April 2009 issue of the Harvard Mental Health Letter, rigorous studies have found scientific proof that yoga helps the body deal with stress by slowing heart and breathing rates and lowering blood pressure -- which can benefit new moms after the baby's born, too.

 

In class you will:

  • Build relationships with other soon-to-be mothers
  • Build strength and stamina through routines modified to your needs
  • Practice targeted stretching and toning designed to prepare you for labor
  • Learn breathing, relaxation techniques, and mental focus that will carry you through labor, and beyond!

Classes are held Thursday nights from 6:30 - 7:30 at River City Therapy and Wellness, 268 State Street, Bangor, ME.
